OS X 10.5 and the Case of the Stuttering Mouse

Got OS X 10.5 (aka Leopard)? Find that every now and then you’re mouse stutters and skips like Windows executing a networked file copy? Blame the Dashboard.
Steps to reproduce: put your machine to sleep. Wake. F12 to unleash the widgets. F12 to rein them in again. Commence stutterage (your steps may vary).
This thread on the Apple Support boards details it further (and reassuringly lets you know you’re not alone out there):
I too am experiencing the stuttering mouse syndrome. It happens most of the time that I wake from sleep. And again the only way I’ve been able to correct this is by restarting. Logout and login doesn’t solve it.
Alas it does seem a restart is the only solution. Hopefully this’ll be fixed in the next OS X rumoured to be coming soon. Until then, Leopard makes me sad, still.
