Apple Has a Music Monopoly?

Evidently so, or so claims a lawsuit filed down in the States:
“Apple has engaged in tying and monopolizing behavior, placing unneeded and unjustifiable technological restrictions on its most popular products in an effort to restrict consumer choice, and to restrain what little remains of its competition in the digital music markets,”
Rather than jump to conclusions on what constitutes a Monopoly (besides the fun board game with the shiny pieces) I figured I ought to consult a source in the know. No, not Wikipedia, but rather Princeton university’s WordNet:
S: (n) monopoly ((economics) a market in which there are many buyers but only one seller) “a monopoly on silver”; “when you have a monopoly you can ask any price you like”
S: (n) monopoly (exclusive control or possession of something) “They have no monopoly on intelligence”
Hmm, that can’t be right. Ok, fine, I’m going to Wikipedia:
A monopoly (from Greek mono(μονό), alone or single + polο (πωλώ), to sell) is a persistent situation where there is only one provider of a product or service in a particular market.
How terrible that Apple do that! Fight the Apple monopoly, buy your digital music from these places instead:
Crush the Apple monopo… hey, wait a minute….
