Reading today’s Daily WTF? is absolutely worth it for the image at the end.

Only a Coincidence If You Live in a Cave

The iTunes world is all a-twitter over NPR’s story by some guy named Dave about how he found a “musical soulmate” via a random chance encouter of iTunes music sharing:

And the weird thing is, when he went to listen to the music, it was just like his. Everything he had, she had: Beck, the White [...]

Star Wars, Episode VII

I wish the last three Star Wars movies, any of the last three Star Wars movies, had been a fraction as good as this short film is.
“What the hell is an aluminum falcon?!?”
(Post-flu insomnia is finally, finally letting me get caught up on the internet)

“These things go down!”

In my world most of the people I know who play with climbing gear tend to go up first, and then back down. And it’s usually done outside, far from concrete and glass. In a bizarro-land parallel world some crazy folks are doing the exact opposite and it is some fantastic, crazy, balls-to-the-walls exploration: Your [...]

Google Mac Blog

I did not now, until (( this very moment ) - 180000 ) milliseconds, that there was an Official Google Mac Blog. Which is pretty cool in its own right but it’s all the more cooler because über-Mac geek Amit Singh is one of the contributors.

Mach Speed Ruby Class

I’ve created a Ruby class for converting from Km/h to Mach speed and vice versa: Ruby Class: Mach Speed. Probably not too useful to you unless you’re working in aviation or aeronautics (Curious to know what your Mach walking speed is, assuming 4 Km/h on a nice day? Mach 0.0032).

Stretching Leads to Satanism, Part Deux

The CBC article got me intrigued so I googled yoga religion. Very first hit: Is Yoga a Religion? from Swamij.com. Never heard of them but then I neither practice yoga or religion so that’s not surprising.
Swami J says (in the simple explanation section):

Yoga is contained within religions.
Religion is not contained within Yoga.

Wisdom, grasshopper, wisdom. [...]

Yes I Have, No I Haven’t

Yes I have seen the new Apple iPhone. No, I probably won’t get one any time soon (even if they do become available in Canada). No I haven’t watched the keynote (I never have). Yes the iTV is fairly exciting. Yes I will probably be getting one of the new Airport Extreme base stations (the [...]

Stretching Leads to Satanism

It’s hard to maintain any sort of respect for religious fundamentalism when it continues to parade the face of inanity like a standard before battle:

A school program to fight childhood obesity that includes yoga is drawing complaints from some Christian parents in the Quesnel area in B.C.’s Cariboo region.

“It’s not fair to take prayer out, [...]

5 Things About…

Alrighty, both Reg and Collin have tagged me for the 5 Things Most People Don’t Know about me meme and as Jonathan Schwartz is playing along too, far be it from me to not to jump in so here goes:
1. I used to work at Science City in Toronto, selling binoculars and telescopes to parents [...]
