Down in Virginia Beach some guy walked up to an ATM, reprogrammed it to give $20s and though they were $5s and walked away. From the article:

The man then punched a series of numbers on the machine’s keypad, breaking the security code.

I believe the correct phrase in this case should really be: “entering the security code”.
