Subversion server undex OS X?

I’ve spent the better part of a day trying to get Subversion running as a server on an OS X box with no luck. It’s not the Subversion part that’s the problem, it’s the server part.
The closest I’ve seen to comprehensive instructions is svnserve launchd item for OS X 10.4 over on TextSnippets. Unfortunately this only seems to work for 10.4.6 and below, falling prey to the infamous “Workaround Bonjour” bug in launchd, introduced in OS X 10.4.7 (for which I have yet to come across a decent description). It seems to prevent this process from working.
So, anyone know how to run Subversion as a server under OS X 10.4.7, or know where to find instructions for this? In the meantime I’m going back to install it on the Ubuntu machine….
