Loud Hard drive

I recently replaced the hard drive in my laptop with a Hitachi Travelstar 80Gb 5400 RPM drive. I can’t recomment it at all, it’s noisy as hell. All drives make noise, this is a given, but the amount of noise this laptop drive makes, and the sheer variety of different noises - none of which are actually problem noises - is astonishing.

If it were sentient I’d think it were trying to speak. I think it needs to go back.
