Mac IE Finally Taken Off Life Support

Finally. Microsoft will no longer support or make available Internet Explorer for Mac:
All support for the Macintosh version of Internet Explorer will cease on December 31, 2005 and all official distribution of the browser will cease on January 31, 2006. In other words, IE is finally dying.
Given that Mac IE hasn’t been updated in any meaningful way since about 2001, this has been a long time coming. If you’re one of the hard-core still using it (or IE on Windows for that matter), stop. Stop now. Fire up Safari or get yourself Firefox and step into the future with us. The flying cars are great.

The funniest part of this is that I clearly remember back in 2000/2001 when IE5 for MacOS9 was the most standards compliant browser out there and it had the best CSS support on the market at the time… oh the good old days.
