For a long time I’ve been looking for a decent web-based drop box application. I’ve found pure HTML ones, perl-based CGIs, and the odd PHP-based one but haven’t found one I liked. So I set out to build it… and build it… and then I got a nasty cold that knocked me down for a couple days so I kept building it (it’s amazing what you can get done alternating a steady diet of DayQuil and NyQuil).
The result: Drop Bocks 0.3, a PHP-based drop box application. If you feel the need to let other people upload files to you, check it out.
Highlights:
- The simplest set-up requires changing only two configuration settings
- Installs in less than five minutes
- Fully skinnable via CSS
- Free, open-source (BSD license), and written in PHP

omg, that doc page is way to thought out and clean! Want to make one for my projects?
I had this up and running in about 30 seconds. Nice work
Upload boxes make me happy.
Wait’ll you see what’s in store for 0.4. (Didn’t someone once say something to the effect of: the useful life of any application is reached as soon as it acquires the ability to send email?)
