Why develop for the Mac in an Intel world?

Over on MrBarrett.com Damien Barrett takes an interesting look at the Macs-on-Intel issue that’s been the buzz of the internet lately and asks:
Were Apple to go this way [bundling Windows with MacOS - CJC], some developers might ask why they should develop for Mac OS X when they can simply develop for Windows.
My answer: for the same reason they do now, whatever those reasons might be. I don’t know any Mac developers who develop for the Mac because they have to, they all do because they want to. That won’t change if Apple manages to create dual-run MacOS/Windows machines, why would it? If I wanted to be a Windows developer I’d walk out and buy a Windows machine instead of the five Macs I currently own.
Personally if Apple starts shipping Macs running on Xeons that are able to run both MacOS and Windows at the same time I’ll be right there in line to get one. That would be the best of all worlds and a software developer’s dream.
