Greyhound update

The original Craig’s List post has been deleted for some reason. Odd, I wonder why?
Nonetheless that doesn’t change how great a dog greyhounds are and they still need help. If you want to help out in some way, contacting Greyhound Lovers of Hamilton-Wentworth would be a good start.

Greyhounds in dire need

Ordinarilly I rant about the tech industry and software development but this time not so. This time it’s about greyhounds in need, specifically 500 that will be killed if homes can’t be found for them.
From Craig’s List: Greyhounds need home or will be euthanized.

A question for Windows XP

When two identical modal dialog boxes need to be popped up in succession why do you insist on popping them up in different places on the screen?
It is mildly infuriating to move the mouse over to the Cancel button, click it, know that I’ll want to click Cancel on the next dialog as well, and […]

The worst of OSS supporters

There’s the browser wars, the OS wars, the text editor wars, and they all have their zealots but I find none so self-aggrandizing, pretentious and self-righteous as the open-source software zealots.
Witness this comment on Slashdot in response to a Linux distributor’s choice to use currently-proprietary software in it’s development process:

They are now propriatary software developers, […]
