Family members of a close friend of mine are still missing in Thailand and they’re now doing everything they can to try and find them:
For four long days, Roy Maguire waited by the telephone, trying to will his vacationing brother-in-law and wife to call from stricken Thailand to say everything’s okay. The call never came, so last night Mr. Maguire boarded a plane to Asia to track down his family himself.
[..]
They are searching for John and Jackie Knill, a North Vancouver couple, both 54, who were vacationing in Khao Lak, one of the worst-hit beaches in southern Thailand. Wire service reports from Khao Lak say the death toll there is about 700 and that thousands are injured. Authorities expect the number to rise.
Please read the rest of the article over at the Globe and Mail: Father and son begin their quest ….
Again, the names of the missing couple are:
· John Knill
· Jackie Knill

Both are Canadian and were last seen in Khao Lak, Thailand.
If on the off chance you have any information please contact a Canadian official via Foreign Affairs Canada, or contact the Globe and Mail, or me at the email address on the right, with anything you have.
Update: Canada AM also has a piece on this.
And a special thanks to David Akin for mentioning this and to BoingBoing for their link as well.
