Loving to hate

I was just pointed to this site: Traditional Values Coalition, which is essentially the codefication of the moral majority, who truth be told, don’t seem all that moral but evidently, as recent events would suggest, actually are a slight majority.
On this site is the following, a veritable gordian knot of moral rationalization:
“We believe that every human deserves the right to life—from conception to death—and that we do not have the right to kill unborn children nor to murder the elderly through active euthanasia. We do, however, support the death penalty. The Bible is clear that the government has the responsibility to provide for peace and security for its people. We also believe the government has the power to take the lives of those who murder others and to wage war against our enemies. “
[...]
Homosexual behavior is explicitly condemned in both the Old and New Testaments as an abomination and a violation of God’s standards for sexuality.
[...]
“The Bible teaches us that we are to love our enemies and do good to those who persecute us. We believe it is a loving response to oppose behaviors that destroy individuals and families. It is not loving to allow someone to kill themselves or other individuals. It is not “hate” to fight against such cultural forces as pornography, drugs, abortion, and sodomy.”
Just so I’m sure I’m keeping up here, so I have it straight:
We love our neighbours and enemies, and we don’t allow other people to kill other people and we won’t kill other people… except when we kill our enemies and we kill those who kill other people, whom we still love, unless we hate them, in which case it isn’t actually hate. And killing is bad and loving is good. Except when loving is bad and killing is good… in which case it’s still not hate to hate the things we hate and if you love someone we hate then it’s really love when we hate you and….
Ow, my head.
