Belittling the disabled kids

Over on the Traditional Values Coalition website they’re condemning a flyer that’s been making the rounds comparing George Bush Jr. with the retarded kids of the Special Olymmpics:

Washington, DC, — “Tennessee State Representative Craig Fitzhugh should be ashamed of himself for allowing his campaign office to distribute a flyer belittling Special Olympics children,” said Traditional Values Coalition Chairman Louis P. Sheldon, today. “This disgusting flyer is an insensitive attack against children with disabilities.”

I wholeheartedly agree: comparing those hard-working, devoted, earnest and commendable children to George Bush is disgusting and shameful. They deserve more than that by far.

Meanwhile, over at Low Culture, a post-third debate analysis comparing the opinions of undecided voters with those of kids too young to actually vote in “Profiling the Elusive Undecided Voter,” or: “When teenagers who can’t vote are smarter than the nimrods who can”.

Here’s an idea: let’s lower the voting age to ten. Seriously.
