Air is bad for oxygen?

I don’t mean to be a smart-ass but wouldn’t air bubbles in an oxygen-making machine be a good thing?

The main oxygen generator for the International Space Station has failed, and the two astronauts on board may have to tap into an attached cargo ship’s air supply next week, NASA said Thursday.

The generator — a balky Russian unit that keeps breaking down — stopped working earlier in the week. Normally, air bubbles are to blame, but this time it appeared there was a blockage in a line.

Incidentally, when was the last time you looked around your home and said “damn, with all these cutting-edge Russian appliances I have how could life possibly get any better?” Never maybe?

Its time to start contracting out to the Germans and the Japanese for the critical bits of this space stationy thing.
