Litigious fun south of the border: the EFF is suing the FCC over the FCC’s digital broadcast mandate to implement broadcast flags in next-gen television programming and hardware.
The proposed flag would essentially limit what we, the users, could do with the digital broadcasting we receive. If the broadcaster doesn’t want you to record it, you wouldn’t be able to; want to skip commercials… probably not. This is an excellent first step in combatting the restrictions of use imposed by Big Media.
