This latest version of Pictu sports some spiffy new features, the most notable of which is: PictuVision.
PictuVision is a window into what other people are viewing with Pictu. In PictuVision mode Pictu grabs a random image from the PictuVision server, downloads it, and displays it in your Pictu window.
“Where do these downloaded images come from?” you ask. Why from you, the users of course. In PictuVision mode Pictu also lets you upload images to the PictuVision server simply by dragging them into the Pictu preferences window or onto the Pictu viewing window. Confirm that you want to upload that image and it’s on it’s way.
The PictuVision server only stores a maximum of ten images at any given time. If a new image is uploaded while ten images already exist another image is chosen and random and deleted. Thus the more people using PictuVision the faster the images change and the greater the variety.
Warning: PictuVision uploading is anonymous. The Internet being what it is it’s highly likely that some content delivered by PictuVision may not be suitable for viewers of a sensitive nature. Use PictuVision at your own risk.
