Sagres

Stumbled across a new beer in the liquor store yesterday: Sagres, from Portugal. Despite being 5.1% it tastes and drinks like a lighter beer, belonging among the likes of Heineken and Grolsch. With a very mild initial flavour it has almost no immediate aftertaste though the slight tang of alcohol lingers long afterwards. Generally, not bad; a better buying choice than the mass-market Dutch beers.

I like it too. Contrast it with the other Portuguese option of “Super Bock” if you get the chance — it was the only other beer I saw while travelling through Portugal.
