Alrighty, here’s how I get my currently-playing iTunes track to display as my iChat status: iChatStatus, as suggested by Steve on FA: OS X. iChatStatus is pretty damned cool and the iTunes thing is just one possible option. Check it out.
Update: I guess I should probably mention this bit from the developer’s site:
iChatStatus is a quick hack, which makes unresponsible use of private Apple frameworks. It is likely to break on future system versions, and it is possible that it could cause unexpected problems on current OS versions too. iChatStatus is 100% unsupported.
So there ya go.
