A thought about traffic flow

Roadwork needs to be done, that’s a given, however… When the work that needs to be done is the repaving of all the off-ramps from the freeway heading in one direction wouldn’t it perhaps be better to do stagger the work, say paving every second one at the same time rather than all of them at once? That way a 14 Km-long traffic jam won’t back up that extends from the base of the 427 well into downtown Toronto along the Gardner, as it did this afternoon.

Or at the very least if you’re planning on preventing people from being able to get off the freeway, could you maybe also prevent us from getting onto it as well so we can find another route? Discovering that you’re trapped after the fact really isn’t as amusing is it might sound.
