On the news this evening the topic of gay marriage has been the lead story (it’s being voted on in the House today). I’ve noticed something in the coverage about the debate, both in Canada and in the United States: it’s being argued, both sides, almost exclusively by old white guys. And every single one of them purports, most vehemently, to be the only true voice “for the country” and “for this country’s ideals”. Bollocks.
Folks, who truly gives a damn who marries whom? If you do, I urge you to sit down and really ask yourself why you’re so concerned with the mundane business of other people. Surely you have something better to do with your time?
