At war with the MPAA

Earth Station 5 has declared war on the MPAA:
Earthstation 5 is at war with the Motion Picture Association of America
(MPAA) and the Record Association of America (RIAA), and to make our point very clear that their governing laws and policys have absolutely no meaning to us here in Palestine, we will continue to add even more movies for FREE.“File-sharers world-wide are learning that our Earthstation 5 software
hides the identities of its users and their IP addresses so they can now
freely share their music and movies online without the threat of a lawsuit
from the RIAA and/or the MPAA,” said [Ras] Kabair [president of ES5 - ed.].
“What’s Earth Station 5 and who are the MPAA?” you ask.
Earth Station 5 appears to be an anonymized (careful: not anonymous as far as I can tell) file sharing network run from within the Jenin Refugee camp in Palestine. How incredibly Gibson-esque, that.
ES5 promises a wealth of movies and music all without fear of reprisal from the Evil Empires (no, not the Redmond one, the others ones, in Hollywood). Does it work? I dunno, it’s PC-only.
In the other corner: the MPAA, jack-booted troops of Jack Valenti hell-bent on ensuring that the movie industry squeezes every last dollar from every last viewing of every movie ever made by employing tactics that would make Darth Vader blush with squeamishness.
This should be interesting to watch.
